Required Application Materials
Prior to applying, have your high school principal or guidance counselor submit the High School Application form. Then complete and send the following forms to Advanced Scholars. You may register for courses after you are accepted into the program.

- One-time $45 application fee* provided by the student (make checks payable to University of Nebraska–Lincoln.)
NOTE: If English is not your first language, you are required to demonstrate English proficiency by submitting one of the following: ACT English subscore of 18 or higher, SAT I Verbal of 430 of higher, or TOEFL score of 525 (computer version 193) or higher.
*The application fee is a one-time, University of Nebraska fee. If you have already applied to the University of Nebraska (any campus) in the past 12 months, this fee is waived. If, after applying to Advanced Scholars, you decide to apply to the University (any campus) your freshman year, the fee for that application will be waived.
Application and Acceptance Process
- High school submits the New School Application form, if not previously submitted.
- Each academic year, submit all required application materials and fee.
- UNL Office of Admissions notifies you by e-mail and mail of your acceptance status.
- UNL Office of Admissions will also send your NU ID number and temporary TrueYou password in two separate e-mails.
- Advanced Scholars program staff will send communications on how to enroll in courses.
- After you are accepted, you may enroll in Advanced Scholars courses.
