Online College Courses for High School Students

About Advanced Scholars

As a partnership linking University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) with high schools, the Advanced Scholars program enables schools to offer qualified high school juniors, seniors and high-ability students the opportunity to enroll in online UNL courses for college credit, at a reduced tuition rate. High school students stay challenged academically and prepare for the rigorous coursework they’ll experience upon arriving on campus.

Students who enroll in the UNL College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) courses automatically become participants in the Nebraska Academy. The Academy features competitive scholarships, on-campus interactions with faculty, field trips, early career experiences and partnerships with faculty in credit-generating research projects.

Students who successfully complete Advanced Scholars online courses earn college credit, verified by an official UNL transcript.

Advanced Scholars students will:

  • Have greater flexibility upon entering the college of their choice, by earning college credit early
  • Save money with a reduced tuition rate
  • Gain education from a University proven in excellence
  • Ease into the challenges that college coursework provides
  • Increase knowledge of online courses and systems students use in colleges/universities across the U.S.
