Fundamentals of Human Communication (COMM 109)
This course is designed to facilitate learning for all general education students who desire to improve their speaking efficiency, competency, poise and self-confidence in interpersonal, small group and public situations. Students in this course acquire foundational knowledge of communication elements and models which are then applied in a variety of situations. In particular, students learn about the nature of communication and presentational speaking. Beyond this, students prepare and present speeches and presentations which incorporate communication principles in each of these contexts. Fundamentals of Human Communication serves as a performance-based communication course.
