Human Development and the Family (CYAF 160)
This course is designed to facilitate an initial, critical study of various aspects of human development across the life span. It focuses on theoretical issues, developmental tasks, human differences, and applications of the knowledge within the area of life span development. Various aspects, themes, and influences of development are examined from prenatal development to death. During the semester, you will have the opportunity to grow and parent your own virtual child from conception to age 18 years. CYAF 160 provides an introduction to more advanced study and to later courses in family and consumer sciences, child development, early education, nursing, and other social sciences.
