UNL’s expectations for academic honesty and integrity

Everyone in the academic community is responsible for maintaining integrity and honesty. Instructors are committed to offering courses that uphold an atmosphere of ethical behavior and equitable treatment. Students — or in this case, scholars — are expected to respect the University’s Code of Conduct and academic policies at all times, regardless of the assignment, quiz or exam.

Consequences for undermining University policies can be as severe as expulsion, which may prevent you from attending any university for a period of time. Even small offenses are likely to follow you most of your academic career, and could carry over into your professional life. In fact, any student found guilty of academic dishonesty is subject to both academic and disciplinary sanctions.
