Advanced Scholars

Grading System

The same grading system is used for all UNL students

The Advanced Scholars courses are actual college-level classes, meaning your course grades will be on your official college transcript. Registering for a course commits you to an academic obligation.

The University uses an A through F grading system with plus/minus:

A+ = 4.0 Grading
A = 4.0
A- = 3.67
B+ = 3.33
B = 3.0
B- = 2.67
C+ = 2.33
C = 2.0
C- = 1.67
D+ = 1.33
D = 1.0
D- = 0.67
F = 0

Only courses that use the UNL grading system are counted toward your UNL grade point average (GPA).

Dropping a course

Any University student who has registered for a course may also drop the course. You may drop a course and receive a full refund of your tuition within the first six days of the semester. Following the sixth day, students will need to pay for a portion of the tuition for any dropped course. All courses dropped after the second week of the term will be noted on the student’s record with a “W” grade.
